Service: North region
Salary: Grade 4 Point 34-38: £42,562 – £46,703 FTE (£25,537.20 - £28,021.80 per annum, pro rata for 22.2 hours per week)
- Additionally, £480 home-based allowance FTE per annum pro rata
Location: Home based – Ideally the candidate will live in the North region with their office base being at home. We have created a new role within the North management team structure to support the operational delivery of services in this region. The role will be temporary for 12 months with the potential to extend beyond.
Please note travel across the North will be required on a regular basis to support service managers with a wide range of operational tasks. Mileage will be claimed through expenses at 55p per mile.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the operational delivery of services in the North. The Peripatetic Operational Manager will, in consultation with the Assistant Director and Deputy Director responds to the needs of existing services across the North and support the growth and development of the region.
This is a new role within the North structure, it is envisaged that the post holder will provide direct support with practice development, quality assurance activity, business development and mobilisation of new services. The post holder will not line manage staff or have responsibility for dedicated services but may be required to provide temporary management support to services as and when required. Please note applicants need to evidence that they have practice experience relating to working with adults, children , young people and families as set out in the job description and person specification.
The Peripatetic Operational Manager will need to be responsive to the needs of services and be prepared to flex and change as the demands fluctuate.
Main Responsibilities:
• Ensure that services in the North are delivered to a good quality standard in relation to practice and performance and that services can demonstrate their impact using evidence based outcomes tools.
• Increase capacity in the North to grow the region, including contribution to tenders, working with the business development team and supporting services to enable their contributions.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
• Experience of providing effective management, leadership and safeguarding oversight of case work and group work based support services, which overall improve the lives of service users.
• Experience of setting up and/or managing innovative projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence and ability to present and communicate information effectively both in person and using a range of mediums to internal and external stakeholders, including children and young people, parents and carers, and funders.
• Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service –Enhanced
