Salary: £12.21 per hour, rising to £12.71 per hour from the 1st April 2026

Location: Woodfield Park Community Centre. Welland. Peterborough

Hours: Flexible – up to 20 hours during Easter and Christmas Holidays, and up to 80 hours over Summer Holiday. Up to 5 hours a day for 4 days over Christmas and Easter Holidays, and 5 hours a day for 16 days over the Summer holidays.

Contract: Sessional

We have been funded by Peterborough City Council to provide Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) during the school holidays. We provide activities and lunches for children aged 5-12 years.

We are looking for motivated, passionate and experienced play workers with experience of delivering high quality play services to meet the needs of local communities. You will be passionate about improving and promoting the physical and emotional health and wellbeing of children and families.

Main Responsibilities:
• Working within a staff team to provide a fun and stimulating environment which is safe and healthy.
• Assisting with planning, preparation and delivering a range of play and food related activities which meet the needs of the children and the funding criteria.
• Supporting the children to be independent and acting as a positive role model.
• Adhering to policies and procedures in the setting at all times.
• Promoting the decision to make healthy food choices, in line with our policy
• Ensuring safeguarding is a priority

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
• Experience of working with children aged 5-12 years in a group setting
• You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic and will have an innovative and positive nature.
• Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service – Enhanced DBS
