Salary: £25,221 - £27,780 FTE per annum - (Pro-rata amount for part-time hours £5,044 - £5,556)
Hours: 7.4 hours per week on Tuesdays (Part-time)
Location: Nechells Community Hub, 42 Crompton Rd, Birmingham B7 5SN
Contract: Temporary until the end of March 2027

The postholder will support the Club to achieve its aims:
• encourage families to access local support services and be signposted to other agencies
• provide regular access to a sustainable supply of food to people at risk of food insecurity
• increase disposable income for local families to improve life chances and wellbeing
• reduce the amount of food being sent to landfill in the UK by utilising surplus food
Main Responsibilities:
• The postholder will lead on engagement with the community and partner organisations, creating collaborative opportunities that have a positive impact for those who live and work in the Ladywood area of Birmingham.
• The postholder will also lead on volunteer recruitment, supporting local people to develop their skills and confidence.
• The postholder will line manage the Birmingham Food and Wellbeing Assistant.
• They will work within the national FOOD Club team and liaise closely with other local Birmingham staff, as well as recruiting and supporting local volunteers.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
• You may have previous experience in retail, health & safety, environmental health, education or social work. Previous experience of working with families is desirable.
• You will have the skills to arrange a wide range of activities such as establishing focus groups, organising partner organisations to visit the club, arranging community events and taster volunteer days.
• You will be passionate about supporting members of the community to access low-cost, high-quality food and engage in local projects and services. You will be enthusiastic about delivering engaging activities that involve and make a difference to the local community.
• Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service – ENHANCED
