Salary: Grade 3 point 20–23: £28,884 - £31,698 FTE per annum
Location: Sunlight Centre, Richmond Road, Gillingham
Hours: Full time: 37 hours per week (full time) including a share of the Saturday rota. (The centre is open Monday-Friday 0900hrs – 1830hrs and Saturdays 0900hrs – 1500hrs).
Contract: Permanent

Medway Family Time is delivered by Family Action and is commissioned by Medway council. It provides a statutory service that ensures parents who are unable to see their children unsupervised are able to have contact in a safe and supportive environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join the management team of this successful and friendly service. You will be in charge of the day to day running of the centre and will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure that a family focus and the pursuit of excellence is at the heart of what is delivered.
Main Responsibilities:
• Be the first point of contact for the day to day organisation and running of the Family Time centre
• Ensure that the service is safe and delivered to a high standard, compliant with safeguarding legislation, policy and practice guidelines
• Support the team through clear day to day management and the delivery of line management and supervision
• Maintain positive and constructive links with stakeholders, support triage of referrals and ensure that operationally the team meet key performance indicators while ensuring excellent quality of delivery and reporting
• Have responsibility for planning and tracking delivery ensuring that referral requirements are met and that all details are placed on Inform, the database used to record the centre’s work
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
• A genuine interest and experience of working with vulnerable families
• A strong understanding of national and local safeguarding requirements
• Evidence of the ability to manage a busy and challenging service
• Organised, focused and able to provide clear and effective direction to team members, particularly when timely decisions are required
• Good written and verbal communication skills with a working knowledge of how to use a data base and Microsoft programmes to support planning, rota creation and management and accurate recording of cases
Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service at an enhanced level.
