Salary: £41,518 FTE per annum (£33,214.40 per annum, pro rata)
Location: PARCS Portsmouth Office; 131 Goldsmith Ave, Southsea, Portsmouth, Southsea PO4 8QZ based with travel and possible overnight stay required.
Hours: Initially 29.6 hours per week – subject to funding beyond May 2027
Contract: Permanent

You will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the delivery of high-quality support services for adults, children, and communities.
You will ensure effective service pathways, safeguarding compliance, and quality assurance while managing staff and volunteers to provide outcome-focused care.
You will be involved in strategic development, partnership building, financial oversight, and promoting an inclusive, learning-focused team culture.
Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will uphold best practices in risk management and service excellence, driving continuous improvement and sustainability.
Main Responsibilities:
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality services for adults, children, and the community, ensuring compliance with Family Action’s Quality Assurance Framework.
• Lead the management of triage, referrals, waiting lists, assessments, client allocations, and case closures.
• Ensure service pathways are robust, safe, and effective, aligning with best practices and safeguarding standards.
• Support the operation of specialist services, including services in North Somerset and Gloucestershire.
• Provide direct line management and reflective supervision to staff and volunteers, ensuring high-quality, safe, and outcome-focused practice.
• Support staff training, professional development, and performance through appraisals, supervision, and case audits.
• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, overseeing safeguarding procedures and ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and best practices. Leading on service response to Section 11 submission annually, attending relevant CPD and multi agency meetings
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
• A recognised professional qualification at a minimum of Level 6 in Counselling, Psychotherapy, Psychology, or a related field
• Registration/accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP,HCPC, BATT).
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning, including knowledge of the latest best practices in clinical work and service leadership.
• A management qualification or equivalent leadership training.
• Demonstrable post-qualifying experience in counselling/psychotherapy with survivors of sexual/domestic abuse.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a multidisciplinary team, including clinical and administrative staff.
• Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service – Enhanced level – children barred list
