At Family Action we support people through change, challenge or crisis. It’s what we’ve done for over 150 years. We protect children, support young people and adults and offer direct, practical help to families and communities.
We see first-hand the power of family to shape lives, for better or worse, so we speak up for the importance of family in national and local policymaking, amplify family voices and represent the changing needs of families in the UK today.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Sessional Worker to join FamilyLine’s counselling and befriending service team and play a vital role in supporting people who contact us for help. You will undertake telephone triage and initial assessments, helping individuals access appropriate counselling and/or befriending support, while ensuring a safe, compassionate and high-quality service for those who need it.
Main Responsibilities:
You will contact clients referred to the Tier 3 Service, undertaking telephone triage and initial assessments to identify their needs, assess suitability for counselling and/or befriending, and identify any safeguarding concerns or risks. You will provide appropriate information, signposting and onward referrals where needed, maintain accurate and confidential case records, and work in line with Family Action’s safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection policies. You will also liaise with colleagues and other professionals as required.
